Trying out my new trail camera...
Oct. 17, 2022
So, my boss (and one of my dearest friends) told me about the joy it gave her to watch the birds in her bird bath every morning. She also mentioned a Holly bush where some of the birds would hide in for protection or just to party or whatever else. For her birthday, I thought it’d be cool to get one of those trail cameras to stick in the bush to see what’s actually going on in there. I thought about one for myself to stick inside a birdhouse that I have, that gets a lot of action in the Spring in Summer. Lots of birds dragging dead grass and branches in and out and babies yelling all the time… we named the parents Ralph and Alice. Hard working folk. Anyway, that took me down the camera research road, where I found these cool ones that you strap to a tree or anywhere else. I decided I should try it out in my backyard first… and so far, it’s pretty interesting. However, no offense to deer and rabbits, but eventually I’d like to take it somewhere more obscure and catch a falcon attacking a hoard of mountain goats or something but since that’s pretty unlikely in New Jersey, I’ll probably have to settle for a possum going through some garbage. Either way, this is where I am now and I hope to have some cooler updates shortly…
